Vacation Bible School is scheduled for July 7-11, 2008.  This summer’s program is Power Lab… discovering Jesus’ miraculous power!  Kids will be amazed with fun, science-themed surprises as they experience deep-impact Bible learning and applications that will open their young hearts to Jesus.  God will work miracles this summer!  Children entering prekindergarten and those entering kindergarten (Preschool Program) and those entering grades 1-6 (Elementary Program) are welcome to attend.  Click here to access our VBS website and register online!

Calling all rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders!  Go climb a tree… no really, we mean it!  Come tree climbing with us on Wednesday, July 30th.  Bring a sack lunch, climb at Lake Horton with Tree Climbing U.S.A, enjoy our picnic lunches and maybe even play some fun outdoor games!  We’ll meet at the church at 9:30 and return by 2 pm.  Parent waiver permission slips are available in the church office. (You must have had your 8th birthday by July 30, 2008 to participate in this activity.)  Space is limited so sign up now!  Parent chaperones are also needed.  Call or email Kat Carter to reserve your spot! (770-487-8717; katcarter@coslutheran.org)  Cost is $10.

Rob Bell's latest DVD, "everything is spiritual" is now available in our church library. Great idea for GIFT group or family Bible study!

Christ Our Shepherd is about disciples and discipling.  Through baptism we are claimed as Christ's followers - His disciples - and set on a lifelong journey as part of a community which:

  • Gathers to learn and celebrate
  • Is challenged to grow
  • Is sent to serve

Therefore, Christ Our Shepherd commits to provide opportunities for adults, youth, and children that inform, teach, enrich, renew and equip, strengthening both identities and relationships.

Remember the four keys for nurturing faith in the home:

  • Caring conversations
  • Devotions in the home
  • Family service projects
  • Rituals and traditions
