Property Update

November 18, 2011

From Congregational President Jon scheumann

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Property Acquisition Team’s work on the Due Diligence in support of the acquisition of the Palmetto Road Property continues in earnest and is entering its final three weeks.  At this time all looks good for a December 8th Closing.  While there have certainly been new insights gained from the work, no ‘show stoppers’ have been uncovered.

The Team has learned, to no one’s surprise, that yes there is rock under the surface on portions of the property.  The professional assessment of the suitability for a septic system shows that there is at least 7 to 9 acres of space that would be unrestricted in its suitability for a septic tank and field.   Plus there are an additional 10+ acres where a modified septic system would do the job as well.

The Team has developed a broad, high-level conceptual plan as to how the property could be developed and used.  This work was necessary to facilitate a meeting with the appropriate County Planning and Zoning administrators in which the Team will be seeking feedback on the potential constraints as seen by these officials.  We want to make sure we understand what we cannot do on the property.  To re-emphasize these are conceptual plans only, no formal use or development plans have been or are being developed by PAT, Council or anyone else at this time.

The next information and update session will on Sunday December 4th during the Sunday School hour.  Please continue to be engaged and informed.  Seek out any member of the PAT, Council and/or the Finance Team.

Work remains to be done … but Today is a Really Great Day!
