The Music Ministry at Christ Our Shepherd offers a variety of opportunities for all ages. All groups help lead worship services. Those with the gift of vocal or instrumental music or leadership may be called to serve in this ministry.
- ADULTS and HIGH SCHOOL –
Sanctuary Choir sings for the 8:30 and 11:00 Sanctuary Services every week, August through May, as well as for Christmas Worship Concerts, Good Friday Tenebræ Service, and other special services. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7:30-9:00 p.m., and 20 minutes before the Sunday services. Contact David Beecher for more information.
Joyful Noise Ringers – This handbell choir combines for worship but rehearses in two groups. Rehearsals are Tuesdays, 1:00-2:00 p.m., or Tuesdays 5:45-7:00 p.m. The choir rings 5 octaves of Malmark handbells and 5 octaves of Malmark Choirchimes, plus Petit & Fritsen Flemish handbells. Grace Flock Worship Team leads the 10:50 Fellowship Hall service. The group features singers accompanied by electric and acoustic guitars, electric bass guitar, V-Drums, flutes, and keyboard. They practice on Sundays from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Contact Chris Pederson for more information.
Christ Our Shepherd Brass – This group plays brass choir music with trumpets, French horns, trombones, bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba. They also accompany the Sanctuary Choir during festival services. Their leader is Karl Dietmeyer, and rehearsals are on Sundays, 7:00-8:00 p.m. Click here for a current practice schedule.
Clarinet Choir - This ensemble plays Eb, Bb, alto, bass, and contra-alto clarinets during worship and on special occasions. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with lunch served at 12:15 p.m.

Flute Choir – Led by Karl Dietmeyer, this ensemble plays during worship, notably at bi-monthly Services for Healing. Rehearsals are on Mondays, 7:00-8:00 p.m. The choir plays piccolo, Eb, C, alto, and bass flutes. Click here for a current practice schedule.
Saxophone Choir - This ensemble plays soprano, alto, C Melody, tenor, and baritone saxophones during worship and on special occasions. Rehearsals are on Sundays from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Contact Karl Dietmeyer for more information.
- HIGH SCHOOL -
One50 is the high school praise band. Although members are welcomed as part of GraceFlock Band, they also rehearse independently and provide music for worship on occasion.
Trilogy is a high-school trio who lead in worship on occasion.
- MIDDLE SCHOOL -
Music is part of the Youth LOGOS program for Middle School students. It includes The Shepherd’s Band, Stix Ensemble, and Percussion Group as well as other groups.
Shepherd’s Band - This group of woodwind, brass, strings and percussion players accompanies liturgical music and prepares special music for worship. Conducted by David Beecher, this group practices Wednesdays, 5:15-6:00 p.m.
- CHILDREN -
Music and the Master is the Wednesday afternoon ministry for all 1st – 5th grade students. Included are choral and instrumental instruction, with Bible learning activities.
Shepherd’s Flock Singers – Sing anthems for worship, present a musical each spring and sing in the Children’s Christmas Program. They practice on Wednesdays, 4:25-5:00 p.m.
Shepherd’s Flock Ringers – Third, fourth and fifth-grade handbell ringers prepare anthems for worship as they learn fundamentals of music and bell ringing. They are led by David Beecher. The Ringers and Chimers rehearse Wednesdays, 4:00-4:25 p.m.
Shepherd’s Flock Chimers – Led by Lynn Kalinke and Minka Fulton, these young ringers play Malmark Choir Chimes as they learn basics of music reading and ringing.
Cherub Choir – children ages 4 & 5 from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Their curriculum emphasizes age-appropriate music and worship concepts.
