Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund

The seventeenth in a series of articles about Christ Our Shepherd’s Endowment Fund

When will Christ our Shepherd’s endowment fund distribute funds again?

Typically the Endowment Fund Board deliberates on how to disburse the interest earned by the fund’s investments in late December or early January.  After the board reaches a decision, it will present the results of its deliberations to the members of Christ Our Shepherd for approval at the annual meeting (usually held just after the yearly Congregational Meeting in January).  The funds will be distributed shortly after congregational approval is given.

The Endowment Fund will have over $2000 in benevolence to distribute this year – this is an increase of almost 5 times from last year’s benevolence.  At this time the Endowment Fund Board is actively soliciting suggestions from the congregation on how to allocate this year’s money.

The money is to be issued according to the following formula:

40%  Outreach by Christ Our Shepherd – local outreach.
30%  Outreach in the Synod/Region.
30%  Mission efforts by ELCA (National and/or Global).

If you have suggestions on how to distribute this year’s Endowment Fund money or if you have any questions about the Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund, please contact Scott Bosecker, Rich Klein, Sheila Rambeck, Bill Volckmann or Paul Yellina. You may also send an email to MissionEndowment@coslutheran.org .
